Black Candles

Black Candles (Los Ritos Sexuales del Diablo, 1982) is a Spanish satanic horror you can watch online on iFILM. A young woman and her lover travel to England to find out how her brother suddenly died, and move in with his widowed sister-in-law.

The house, it turns out, has long sheltered a secret devil-worshipping sect whose rites revolve around carnal ceremony. Bit by bit the visitors are pulled into black masses where the line between desire and nightmare dissolves. Helga Liné anchors it as the cult's icy mistress, with Vanessa Hidalgo alongside. Director José Ramón Larraz works in pure 1980s European exploitation mode, where murky atmosphere, nudity and explicit ritual matter more than tidy plotting.
