About
Synopsis
Tales of the Grim Sleeper (2014) is a documentary you can watch online on iFILM. British director Nick Broomfield arrived in South Central Los Angeles four years after the 2010 arrest of Lonnie Franklin Jr., suspected in the deaths of dozens of young Black women over more than two decades. Police called it a solved case. Broomfield went to the block where Franklin lived.
What he found wasn't evidence — it was a neighborhood. Neighbors. People who knew the man's name, and people who lost someone. The film's central question isn't whether Franklin did it; it's why it took 25 years for anyone to look. Premiered at Sundance, aired on HBO. Stream Tales of the Grim Sleeper (2014) on iFILM.
