Hukkle

Hukkle (2002) is a Hungarian drama from debut director György Pálfi — watch online on iFILM. In a small village, daily life unfolds almost without a word: an old man on a bench with chronic hiccups, a shepherdess and her sheep, folk singers at a wedding, women gathering by a well. Pálfi composes it all in images and sounds, with almost no dialogue.

Then, very slowly, the details stop adding up. A crime thriller runs underneath the pastoral surface, assembled through editing rather than explanation — you piece it together yourself.
