Synopsis
Vika the Hurricane (Вика-ураган, 2023) is a Russian comedy you can watch online on iFILM. Vika walks out of a women's prison — she landed there for accidentally knocking out a bully's eye in a brawl — and finds her old life in pieces.
While she was inside, her mother turned the apartment into an adult-toy shop, her husband took up with another woman, and their son Grisha, a boy with developmental needs, was placed in a state home. There's barely anything to come back to: a shabby flat, a lonely old neighbor, a friend from the colony, and a child she has to win back. Vika is used to fixing things with her fists, but fists won't put a family together. Aglaya Tarasova plays the lead, joined by Nikolai Fomenko, Irina Rozanova and Ivan Dobronravov.
Director Ilya Petrukhin keeps the tone balanced between hard kitchen-sink drama and comedy — funny enough to keep the tears at bay. It clicks for anyone who loves stories about unbreakable women who bulldoze through their circumstances and stay standing. Stream Vika the Hurricane online on iFILM.
