Synopsis
Life as a House (2001) is Irwin Winkler's family drama, and you can watch it online on iFILM. Architect George Monroe gets a terminal diagnosis and decides to spend his last summer tearing down his shack on a California cliff to build the home he always imagined — pulling in the teenage son who can barely stand him.
Sam (Hayden Christensen) is sixteen, sullen, dyeing his hair black and lost to drugs; he and George have been strangers for a decade. Kevin Kline plays a man with just enough time left to become the father he never managed to be. The construction site turns into the one place they can talk, and slowly it draws in George's ex-wife (Kristin Scott Thomas) and the neighbors too.
