Synopsis
High Maintenance (2016) is HBO's low-key comedy, ready to watch online on iFILM. At its center is a nameless bike courier known only as The Guy, who pedals weed deliveries across New York City.
The structure is the hook: most episodes are self-contained shorts about whichever client The Guy visits next. An agoraphobic shut-in, a couple falling apart, a drag queen, frazzled parents — the city comes through in dozens of small private stories, with the dealer as the thread tying them together. Ben Sinclair stars as The Guy and co-created the show.
It grew out of a scrappy independent web series that Sinclair and Katja Blichfeld made on their own before HBO bought it and handed them a real budget. Watch it for the tone: less a stoner sitcom than a quiet anthology about lonely city people. Stream High Maintenance (2016) online on iFILM.
