Synopsis
The Wolf House (La casa lobo, 2018) is a Chilean-German animated horror film you can watch online on iFILM — directed by Cristóbal León and Joaquín Cociña, running 74 relentless minutes. Maria escapes from a sealed German religious colony in southern Chile and takes shelter in a remote mansion, where two pigs are the only company she finds.
Filmed as a single unbroken shot using stop-motion animation painted directly onto the walls and floors of the set, the house reshapes itself around Maria's emotional state. The pigs slowly grow human features. The rooms breathe, collapse and rebuild. It is less a film you watch than one that watches you back.
The colony in the story is a thinly veiled portrait of Colonia Dignidad, a real cult that operated under Pinochet's regime in Chile. León and Cociña don't spell out the allegory — they build it into the technique itself, making the form inseparable from the horror. Stream The Wolf House on iFILM.
