Synopsis
Diary of a Mad Black Woman (2005) is an American comedy-drama you can watch online on iFILM. Director Darren Grant worked from a screenplay by Tyler Perry, adapted from his own stage play — Perry also appears on screen in multiple roles, most memorably as the sharp-tongued grandmother Madea. Kimberly Elise plays Helen.
After 18 years of marriage to a high-profile attorney named Charles, Helen comes home to find her clothes loaded into a moving van in the driveway. He's found someone else. That night, she loses the house, the status and most of what she thought her life was. She lands at her grandmother Madea's place — and Madea, played by Perry in full force, turns out to be exactly the kind of company that doesn't let you wallow. Between family, faith and an unexpected new man in her life, Helen starts rebuilding something that feels more like her own.
The film swings between broad comedy and genuine feeling in ways that don't always land smoothly — but that mix is also exactly what fans of Tyler Perry's work come for. Stream Diary of a Mad Black Woman (2005) online on iFILM.
