Synopsis
Madea's Family Reunion (2006) is a comedy-drama you can watch online on iFILM, written and directed by Tyler Perry, who also plays the indomitable Madea herself. The formidable Southern matriarch has more on her hands than usual: niece Vanessa arrives with two young kids and nowhere to go; niece Lisa is engaged to a man her controlling mother chose for her, and the relationship is quietly dangerous; and a court has just assigned Madea guardianship over Nikki, a teenage runaway who has exhausted everyone else's patience.
On top of all that — there's a family reunion to plan. Perry builds the film around two parallel tracks: the broad comedy of Madea trying to manage an impossibly full house, and the more serious thread of women in the family dealing with relationships that have taken something from them. Cicely Tyson, Blair Underwood, Boris Kodjoe, Keke Palmer and a cameo by Maya Angelou all appear alongside the lead cast.
