Synopsis
"Take a Chance on Me" (Marie-Line et son juge, 2023) is a French comedy-drama you can watch online on iFILM — directed by Jean-Pierre Améris, with Louane Emera and Michel Blanc.
Marie-Line runs on sheer momentum. She juggles odd jobs to support her agoraphobic father, keeping the whole thing moving through force of personality. Then she loses her job, picks up a fine from a sullen judge (Blanc), and the floor drops out. A few days later, that same judge turns out to be her best shot at getting back on track. Victor Belmondo — grandson of Jean-Paul — has a role. The film earns its interest from the pairing: she's all forward motion, he's run aground, and neither has any use for the other at first.
