Synopsis
Little Nikita (1988) is a Cold War spy thriller you can watch online on iFILM. Richard Benjamin directs Sidney Poitier and a teenage River Phoenix in a story where a sunny California suburb hides a deadly secret. High schooler Jeff dreams of the Air Force Academy until an FBI background check rips his ordinary life apart.
The agent who pulls that thread, Roy Parmenter, learns that Jeff's quiet parents have been deep-cover Soviet sleeper agents since before the boy was born. Parmenter wants the cell; instead he grows fond of the kid who has no idea what his family really is. Then a ruthless Moscow handler named Scuba arrives, and the sleepers are squeezed between two intelligence services that both want them gone.
What lingers here is not the chase but the quiet dread of a teenager realizing his whole childhood was a cover story. Poitier plays it low and watchful, and an early-career Richard Jenkins rounds out a lesser-known late-eighties thriller worth a look. Stream Little Nikita (1988) online on iFILM.
