Synopsis
A Short Film About Love (Krótki film o miłości, 1988) is a Polish drama by Krzysztof Kieślowski you can watch online on iFILM. Nineteen-year-old Tomek has spent months observing his neighbour Magda through a telescope from his apartment window — tracking her routines, her lovers, the small rituals of her evenings.
He calls her and says nothing. He arranges fake postal notices so she has to come to him. When Magda finds out she is being watched, she does something unexpected: she invites him in. Grażyna Szapołowska and Olaf Lubaszenko play that encounter with a precision that is almost clinical, and the film follows both of them into territory that neither anticipated.
Kieślowski expanded this from the sixth episode of his Dekalog cycle and produced something denser than the original. The question the film keeps turning over — whether Tomek's fixation counts as love at all — never quite resolves. That refusal to conclude is exactly what makes it linger.
