Synopsis
Sahara (1943) is a World War II war film you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Zoltan Korda and led by Humphrey Bogart. After the fall of Tobruk, tank sergeant Joe Gunn falls behind his unit and steers his battered M3 — nicknamed Lulubelle — deep into the Libyan desert.
Along the way he picks up a ragged mix of Allied stragglers: British soldiers, a Sudanese corporal escorting an Italian prisoner, a Free French volunteer, a downed German pilot. The water is nearly gone. At a half-dry desert well they dig in and stall an entire German battalion that needs the very thing they do — something to drink.
Korda made the picture mid-war, and it still holds up as lean, unsentimental combat cinema: men from a dozen flags pinned to one dot on the map. Bogart plays Gunn as a worn-down commander who gets through on sheer stubbornness rather than swagger. Stream Sahara (1943) online on iFILM.
