Synopsis
Ju-On: White Ghost (2009) is a Japanese horror film you can watch online on iFILM. The latest entry in the long-running Ju-On franchise opens with a law student who fails his bar exam and, urged on by a whispering voice on a cassette tape, slaughters his whole family before hanging himself in the woods.
From that one act the curse spreads outward. A little girl in a yellow rain hat, a grey-haired old woman in white, a recorder that captured a stranger's final breaths — director Ryuta Miyake ties the fragments into a single nightmare told out of order. At just sixty-one minutes it wastes no time, and the dread comes from silence and from whatever flickers at the edge of the frame rather than from gore.
