The Muse

The Muse (1999) is a Hollywood satire written, directed by and starring Albert Brooks — and you can watch it online on iFILM. Screenwriter Steven Phillips has suddenly lost his touch: the studios think he's washed up and his career is sliding fast.

A more successful friend lets him in on a secret. A woman named Sarah, played by Sharon Stone, isn't just a consultant but an actual muse, a daughter of Zeus. She agrees to revive his inspiration, yet her gift comes at a steep price — luxury suites, expensive presents and round-the-clock whims that take over Steven's home and his marriage.

Brooks built the film as an inside joke about the movie business, complete with cameos from real directors and producers playing themselves. Andie MacDowell and Jeff Bridges round out the cast.
