Synopsis
The Final Master (师父, 2015) is a Chinese martial-arts drama you can watch online on iFILM. Wing Chun master Chen Shi comes to Tianjin, a city steeped in combat tradition and bound by an unwritten code.
Opening a school there is no small thing: an outsider has to defeat all eight local academies — and not with his own fists, but through a student. So Chen Shi takes on a dockworker with raw fighting talent and begins the slow work of training him. Behind the rules, though, lie the schemes of the elders and the city's officials, and the real price of admission turns out to be steeper than any street duel. Trust, apprenticeship, betrayal — the film tightens those knots patiently and without mercy.
Director Xu Haofeng, who co-wrote The Grandmaster, stages fights with no wires and no CGI acrobatics: short, dry, precise exchanges with real bladed weapons.
