Mini's First Time

The plan curdles into murder. When young detective John Garson starts digging, the two lovers start feeding each other to the wolves. Carrie-Anne Moss, Jeff Goldblum and Luke Wilson round out the rot.

Director Nick Guthe shoots it as cynical noir satire — about money, boredom and people who feel sorry for no one, themselves included. The humor is glacial, the morality nonexistent, and that's the joke. Built for fans of acid-tongued crime in the David Lynch and Coen brothers vein, where there's nobody to root for.
