Synopsis
If You Are the One (非诚勿扰, 2008) is a Chinese romantic comedy from director Feng Xiaogang you can watch online on iFILM. Qin Fen, a forty-year-old who made his fortune in America, comes home to China with one item left on his list — to finally get married.
He posts a personal ad and starts auditioning candidates one at a time, and the meetings run from awkward to flat-out bizarre. Then he meets a stunning flight attendant (Shu Qi) who can't shake a married lover and his endless promises of a divorce that never arrives. Qin Fen knows he's out of his depth, yet fate drags the two of them off to snowbound Hokkaido, where the oldest story in the world plays out on its own terms. Veteran comic actor Ge You leads as Qin Fen.
Feng Xiaogang made a light, wry melodrama about how hard it is to chase love past forty when everyone around you is busy counting money.
