Food Choices
Eat better, live better & help save the planet.
Synopsis
Food Choices (2016) is a documentary about diet you can watch online on iFILM. Director Michal Siewierski spent three years on the road with doctors, researchers and athletes, asking a plain question: how does what ends up on our plate shape our health, the planet, and the lives of other species?
The starting point is personal — the filmmaker simply wanted to know whether he was eating well. From there he gathers voices like T. Colin Campbell, Michael Greger and ultramarathon runner Rich Roll to pick apart the everyday myths around protein, dairy, fat and the so-called balanced diet. Along the way the film lays out the footprint of industrial animal farming, from cleared forests to the water it drains.
Make no mistake, this one argues hard for a plant-based plate, so it's worth watching with a skeptical eye. As a prompt to rethink daily habits and rebuild your own menu, though, it does the job well. Stream Food Choices online on iFILM.
