Synopsis

England, 1647 — civil war, religious panic, bad roads. Tim Key's witchfinder is having the worst year of a mediocre career: no convictions, no money, and a reputation held together with hope. Then he gets a suspect: Daisy May Cooper's defiant, entirely uncooperative accused witch, who needs escorting across East Anglia to trial. The plan is simple. It falls apart immediately. Key plays pompous incompetence with a precision that keeps getting funnier the worse things go, and Cooper's character refuses to make any of it easy.
