Synopsis
What do you do after smashing an android that was built to look exactly like you? Cyber Ivan (2023) is a Russian situation comedy you can watch online on iFILM. Ivan accidentally wrecks a brand-new robot modeled on his own face, and the only way to bail out his engineer father is to pretend to be the machine himself.
That ruse plants Ivan as a servant-android inside the home of Boris, the regional Minister of Innovation, and his wife Rita. Playing an emotionless robot around the clock is hard enough — then the official's daughter shows up: proud, distant, and utterly unaware that the gadget in the corner is a flesh-and-blood man. One stray breath, one slip of feeling, and the whole disguise comes crashing down.
Directed by Vladislav Ikonnikov, the series stars Aleksandr Metyolkin alongside Kamil Larin, Yanina Studilina and Dmitry Astrakhan. The premise is simple, but it squeezes plenty of awkward corners out of it, with the hero forced to keep a straight face where any normal person would crack.
