Synopsis

Directors Bruce Goodison and Ben Chanan made a deliberate choice: no narrator, no distance. The camera works like a helmet-mounted recorder — POV angles, night-vision sequences, muddy tracking shots through trenches. It is the visual grammar of twenty-first-century combat photography, applied to 1914. Shaun Dooley, Gerard Kearns and Michael Socha play different men in different crises, with no time to make speeches about sacrifice.
