His teenage daughter Sonya (Alexandra Babaskina) barely speaks to him — her mother's death left a wall between them, and her grandfather ended up raising her instead. After a schoolyard fight puts her one step from juvenile detention, Sonya gets shipped off to a summer reform program at a rural school, and Fedya tags along, half to watch over her, half to let the online backlash against him die down. Igor Gordin and Darya Melnikova round out a cast of adults with their own unfinished business.
