Synopsis

Two for the Road (1967) is a British romantic drama directed by Stanley Donen — watch it online on iFILM. Audrey Hepburn and Albert Finney play Joanna and Mark Wallace, an architect and his wife driving through southern France while their twelve years of marriage unspool in fragments around them.

The film shuffles between multiple road trips at once: the couple as broke students hitching a lift on the day they met, as newlyweds stuck with unbearable travel companions, as a comfortable but quietly failing pair heading to meet a wealthy client. Donen cuts between these layers without warning, the same stretch of French highway standing in for different decades. Frederic Raphael's screenplay earned an Oscar nomination; Henry Mancini wrote the score.

What makes it linger is how little it judges anyone. Affairs happen, affection cools, people stay together anyway — it doesn't pretend marriage is simple, or that love is enough on its own. Stream Two for the Road (1967) online on iFILM.
