Actor Matty has kept himself functional by not looking too closely at anything. Years of alcohol and drugs have scraped whole stretches of time clean. One particular night in Miami stays missing — a complete blank. Now, sober enough to be frightened, Matty starts to think something bad happened that night. Something he did. Ferrara doesn't package this as a detective story with answers at the end. It's a portrait of a man excavating himself, unsure whether the memory loss is damage or self-protection.
