Synopsis
Ride in the Whirlwind (1966) is an American Western you can watch online on iFILM. Three cowhands — Vern, Wes and Otis — stop for the night at a stranger's cabin, never guessing they've wandered straight into the hideout of an outlaw gang the law is hunting.
By morning a posse has the place surrounded, and it has no interest in sorting drifters from criminals. The three are branded outlaws and run down without mercy. What follows is a grinding flight across rock and scrub, where being innocent counts for nothing next to staying alive. Cameron Mitchell and Jack Nicholson lead the cast — Nicholson also wrote the screenplay — with Harry Dean Stanton turning up along the way.
Director Monte Hellman shoots it dry and unhurried, stripping the Western of heroics: there's no justice on offer here, only men unlucky enough to be in the wrong place. It became a cult favorite among fans of the offbeat 1960s Western. Stream Ride in the Whirlwind (1966) online on iFILM.
