Synopsis
American Ninja 4: The Annihilation (1990) is the kind of straight-faced action romp you watch online on iFILM when you miss renting VHS tapes. The tradition, as the poster promised, lives on.
A sheikh from a made-up emirate hires a sadistic former colonel to drill terrorists and mercenaries into a private ninja army, with a plan to wipe out New York using a pocket-sized nuclear bomb. A Delta team sent to stop them gets cut down, and the survivors end up as hostages. So police officer and trained ninja Sean Davidson goes in with a partner, and when it all falls apart the original American ninja, Joe Armstrong, turns up to even the odds.
David Bradley and Michael Dudikoff carve through enemies by the dozen, and director Cedric Sundstrom keeps it lean: ambushes, chases, explosions, one big final cleanup.
