Synopsis
Curfew (Komendantskiy chas, 1981) is a Soviet war drama you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Natalya Troshchenko. A man calling himself Roman Paskevich turns up as a village teacher in a small Belarusian town under German occupation. His real name is Erich, and he answers to Nazi intelligence.
His orders are exact: find the partisan units, map their numbers, their plans, their weapons. Erich keeps dropping by the home of an aging woman the locals call Baba Vera, certain she is a partisan courier. She looks like nobody special. Then, at the moment that counts, she turns out to be made of rarer stuff. Under her roof live twelve orphans the war left parentless, and she puts herself at risk for them daily.
Galina Makarova, Irina Reznikova, Andrei Tolubeyev and Yuri Solovyov head the cast. The film runs on a quiet contest between two truths rather than gunfire, and on Makarova's face — which is reason enough to watch. Rated 12+. Stream Curfew (1981) online on iFILM.
