Synopsis
Meet the Malawas (Rendez-vous chez les Malawas, 2019) is a French comedy — watch online on iFILM. Director James Huth sends four celebrities with very large egos — a news anchor, a stand-up comedian, a TV actress, and a footballer — to sub-Saharan Africa to shoot a reality series with the tribe. They expected cameras, trailers, and handlers. They get their phones confiscated on day one.
The group flies through a sandstorm, stumbles into the Malawa village, and promptly loses control of the whole production. When the staged adventure becomes too real, the four decide to make a run for civilization on their own terms.
